Job Description

We have an immediate hiring need for a full-time Quality Engineer located at our manufacturing facility in Ladysmith, WI. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Job Summary:

Develops, evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations. Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with internal and external specifications and standards such as ISO regulations. Evaluates and analyzes the efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting inspection support documents and records.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive efforts to improve internal defects per unit (DPU), Rolled Throughput Yield Loss (RTYL), external Parts Per Million (PPM), reduce scrap and improve quality in the manufacturing operation.
  • Develop and evaluate processes using capability studies, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits to improve performance and capability.
  • Lead Kaizen events and other productivity and cost reduction initiatives to achieve plant targets.
  • Uses standard problem-solving techniques and tools to identify root cause and develop corrective actions. Utilize A3 methodology to determine root cause and develop / implement steps that resolve problems.
  • Work with manufacturing labor standards, production routings, manufacturing work instructions, and SAP system needs to maintain production. Utilizes factory automation software to monitor and maintain production.
  • Provide design input and execution support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plant.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering field of study
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

  • 1+ years of Quality Engineering experience
  • Advanced data analysis including knowledge of advanced Excel and PowerBI capabilities
  • ISO documentation systems knowledge and experience
  • Familiarity with SAP
