Job Description
The Product Configuration Engineer at Rockwell Automation's Digital Tools Team will be responsible for verifying and validate SAP based system configurator applications, interfaces, BOM, routings and drawings. As a part of this team at Bangalore, India, you will improve the quality of deliverables of system configurator.
Responsibilities:
- Review application requirements
- Understand the Requirements of SAP Configurator Material development from Workbook
- Specification team and configuring the same in the system.
- Update Selection Chart\Component Selection tables in SAP and Test BOMs
- Update Routing tables in SAP and test Routings
- Maintain SAP Configurable material (KMAT) master data like Characteristics, Classes, Object dependencies, Super BOMs and Routings.
- Fix and test production incidents related to KMATs on timely basis.
- Maintain and test SAP Custom objects.
- ALE VC objects between SAP systems
- Develop functional test scenarios and test cases.
- Log and escalate issues found during testing.
- Provide clear summary of test results and issues to Management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Functional knowledge and project experience in the area of SAP Sales and Distribution, PLM and VC Modules. SAP Certification preferred
- Hands on skills to handle scenarios of Configurable Materials e.g. CTO, ETO.
- VC Modeling skills: KMAT materials, object dependencies, variant tables, classes, material masters, bill of materials, routings, and variant conditions for pricing, IPC knowledge base in the SAP system.
- Exposure to custom development with the help of ABAP developers.
- year degree (Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent industry experience.
- Good communication skills
- You will report to Team Lead-Digital Tools
- This is not a managerial role and has individual contribution responsibilities
Desired Skills/Experience
- SAP-CRM Quote functionality
- SAP Pricing
- Order BOM and order routing
- 3+ years of experience in use of test automation
- Experience in working with global team
- System Configurator experience
- 3+ years of experience in developing products other configurators will be an added advantage.
