Job Description

The Engineer In Training (EIT) program is an entry-level program for engineers and technicians to learn core Rockwell Automation product technologies and to develop fundamental engineering skills to support our customers. The program includes a combination of formal classroom training and work assignments to give engineers and technicians hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation's products and technologies. Training focuses on both technical and leadership competencies. The program will consist of up to 15 weeks of core classroom training in Mayfield Heights, OH prior to deployment into the technician role onsite at customers in North America and reporting to the Engineering Services Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide customer support through the performance of installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of Rockwell equipment and systems.
• Program PLCs and HMIs systems for new or modified equipment utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, FactoryTalk Studio software, Studio5000, ControlLogix and CompactLogix. Program and commission AC and DC drive on web handling systems.
• Maintain automation and equipment including working with voltages up to 600VAC and 800 VDC.
• Troubleshoot problems, identify, and implement new or amended system functionality, identify operational process gaps, and take corrective actions.
• Execute initiatives supporting our automation strategy, manage operating workflows and progress continuous improvement opportunities.
• Develop and write documentation as required (validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, traceability matrix, etc.).

The Essentials – You Will Have:

• High School Diploma or GED and Technical School Work or equivalent relevant work experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• The ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
• A valid drivers license.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience using programmable controllers, numerical controls, computers or motor controls and drives in industrial automation control systems
• Experience in PLC and HMI programming utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, RSView32 and/or FTView ME/SE, Networking: RIO, DH+, D-Net, and Ethernet Communication. Experienced in AC and DC drives.
