Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer works within the Operations organization to establish and maintain a complete Manufacturing System of people, process, information, equipment, and infrastructure that enables the manufacturing plants to produce product without disturbance.. You will lead and/or participate in activities to research, develop, implement and maintain methods and processes used in the manufacture of products. The Manufacturing Engineer will work in the local plant environment to define and lead projects to improve process, safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance, develop and maintains process design and control documentation, and lead process standardisation and governance of process change control. You will work on issues of diverse scope where data analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors. You need to take good decisions in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May lead small special project teams within or external to the immediate group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Establish and maintain optimum production methods, standards, tooling and equipment for all products.
2) Responsible for all aspects of assigned manufacturing processes to demonstrate complete “Process Ownership” which includes:
- Documentation and Technical floor support to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Equipment set-up and operation.
- Hardware operation and maintenance.
- Machine programming and software maintenance.
- Responsible for training and certifying manufacturing operators in all aspects of assigned processes.
- Maintain and Analyse process data to ensure process control.
3) Responsible for design, installation and maintenance of labour standards and computerised routing systems and database for accurate product costs and plant man power calculations.
4) Implement methods, process and equipment improvements.
5) Coordinate and implement product engineering changes into the facility.
6) Provide recommendations, requirements, and justifications to support investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
7) Help implement IT security and business productivity plans in the manufacturing plants.
8) Provide design input and execution support for the development and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and information management systems in the plants.
9) Lead projects to help the plant to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.
10) Initiate and provide justification for capital requests. Define, plan, and lead the implementation of approved capital requests.
11) Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements. Participate in the procurement, installation and validation activities.
12) Both verbal and written skills expertise is required.
13) Collaborate with others from within and outside of the Operations group to achieve common goals.
14) Conduct tasks following applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, ISO 14000) and Rockwell Automation policies as well.
15) Perform other assigned tasks.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Project Management, Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, and a manufacturing environment.

- Some travel is required (0% – 10%); May be international.
