Job Description

Transportation specialist is an mandatory member of the Rockwell Logistics team and manages the daily operations of transportation functions. You will ensure the monthly Goals agreed with the transporters. Also, you will ensure compliance to all existing processes, continuous improvement opportunities, and understanding of Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Materials to ensure transportation needs are met and improved on.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead to be consistent with Rockwell Guidelines and recommendations.
  • Work with forwarders and origin team for the best routes at the optimum cost levels.
  • Oversee relationship with Domestic Service Providers and develop standard MBR/QBR and performance monitoring.
  • Lead the improvement opportunities in the transportation operations and other related functions like warehousing and trade compliance.
  • Accomplish the daily activities of all tactical and transactional functions for the Rockwell Transportation team. This will include, not limited to:
  • Schedule Inbound and Outbound Shipments.
  • Transit Time Reporting and Adjustments.
  • Cost Performance and Casual Reporting.
  • Pro-active approach to deal with issues like delays, damages in operations.
  • SPOC for the stakeholders for any transportation related solution or resolution.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies with existing carrier solution and recommend improvements delivering cost savings and service improvements.
  • Ensure all daily teams are Operating, implementing process improvements and monitor daily performance.
  • Spot rates for non-contracted lanes to maintain continuity of business.
  • Represent Transportation on cross-functional projects or work-streams in which changes, improvements, or upgrades are needed to the daily processes to support new requirements. Manager will also implement these changes.

Job related competencies:

  • Experience with transportation operations.
  • Good Knowledge compliances in Logistics.
  • Good understanding of Trade compliance, Customs, incoterm.
  • Experience of managing forwarder and broker KPI.
  • Well-Versed with MS Office (e.g. excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong data analysis skills to identify opportunities to improve OTD performance and create cost saving.
  • Team contributor, comfortable working with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Good English reading, writing and speaking skills are an added advantage.
  • You should possess presentation skill.
  • Capture and transform an idea/concept into business opportunity and deliver positive results.
  • Good understanding on SAP.
  • Can work under difficult situations.
  • Willing to work overtime.

Qualifications:

  • You need to have Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferably MBA graduation.
  • 5-9 years’ experience in the Transportation Industry with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Understanding of Warehouse, Demand Planning, Customer Service, Sourcing and other Supply Chain Functions.
  • Demonstrated and track record to lead year-over-year cost-saving projects.
