Job Description
Department Overview: The Import/Export Compliance Department at Rockwell Automation ensures that all global trade activities comply with international regulations and standards. The team manages import/export classifications, monitors shipments, and ensures adherence to trade agreements and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Determine global HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes, US ECCN (Export Control Classification Number), and COO (Country of Origin) for all products.
- Read and interpret BOM (Bills of Material), engineering drawings, and other technical data.
- Create adequate backup documentation for product classifications per department procedures.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipments for missing classification data.
- Release orders on hold in the systems.
- Navigate SAP/IFS (Industrial and Financial Systems) systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in daily transactions.
- Respond to classification inquiries from outside of the department.
- Work on projects as assigned.
- Availabity to work on our facilities as Monterrey Manufacturing or Tecate Manufacturing.
- You will report to a team lead
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in international business, administration, international relations or similar
- At least two years of proven experience in classification and import/export compliance activities.
- General knowledge of the following regulations and rules:
- HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) on a global level in accordance with WCO (World Customs Organization) rules and regulations.
- EAR (Export Administration Regulations) and the CCL (Commerce Control List) and working knowledge of foreign export control laws.
- Global COO (Country of Origin) rules.
- Working knowledge of global FTAs (Free Trade Agreements) and how to determine eligibility.
- SAP/GTS (Global Trade Services) knowledge.
- Read and interpret BOM (Bills of Material) and determine the origin.
