Job Description
We are looking for a QA/QC Technician to work onsite in Whitestown, Indiana. As a QA/QC Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing warranty returns to ensure they meet our quality standards. You will identify defects, document findings, and work with the Quality Engineer to implement corrective actions. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records of all warranty-related activities. The QA/QC Technician will report to the Manager, Product Quality and the Senior Product Quality Engineer.
Your Responsibilities:
Warranty Returns Inspection:
- Inspect and test returned products to determine the root cause of failures.
- Document findings and report any recurring issues to the Quality Engineer.
- Ensure all warranty returns are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Quality Control:
- Perform quality control checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Use various testing equipment and tools to assess product quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect and record data on warranty returns and quality issues.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings and quality trends.
- Assist in the analysis of data to identify areas for improvement.
Support Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving quality control processes.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with internal/external customers regarding warranty returns and quality issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers as needed.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of warranty returns and quality control processes.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to warranty returns, testing procedure and quality control.
The Essentials – You Will Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in automation equipment and/or electrical/ electronic equipment and related field preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening.
The Preferred – You Might Also Have:
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
- Experience with inspection and testing equipment.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
- Strong on testing automation and/or Electrical equipment
- Certification in Quality Control or related certifications.
- Experience in handling warranty returns and customer interactions.
- Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations.
