Job Description
Summary:
Reporting to our Industrialization Lead, you will support the manufacturing execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuation Engineer (CE) projects to meet goals around Design for Excellence (DFX), time to market, total product cost, and optimized production system integration. With some guidance, work with the team on different sized projects toward common deliverable timelines. Create a comprehensive manufacturing plan which includes creating final assembly layouts, implementing manufacturing assembly equipment, coordination of facility preparation, ensuring all EHS requirements are met, and facilitating final acceptance of all assembly processes. Through collaboration with local engineers and direct onsite engagement, perform the plan to guarantee a successful pilot and launch products.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead efforts to reduce labor time, improve ease of assembly, and meet product cost targets
- Work with design team and manufacturing operations to ensure optimum product and process design for manufacturability and assembly of new products, in compliance with manufacturing standards
- Coordination of all proto and pilot builds through final execution of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Deliverables including PFMEA, Global Product Marking (GPM), SAP, Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) validation, Work instruction (Digital and Print), Warehouse Management, and Operator & Maintenance training
- Participate in work planning, and scheduling.
- Work on issues of medium scope where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Exercise judgement in supporting the selection of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- You will teach other industrialization engineers how to perform the work that is expected of them, the business processes that they participate in, and how to use the tools (e.g. business system, computer programs) needed to complete their work
- You will support research and development of cost reduction and process improvement projects
- Some travel is required (10% – 15%) international
- Operate, respond, and work in multiple time zones.
Basic Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor of science degree in industrial/mechanical/electrical engineering, or equivalent degree or education.
- 5 years' experience in Engineering.
- Demonstrated understanding of NPI Processes.
- Knowledge of project management tools and principles
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and how to apply
- Accomplish transactions in an enterprise resource planning system, such as SAP.
- Good written and verbal communications in English.
- Proficient using PC programs
You could also have:
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, including process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA).
- Understand and demonstrated understanding of design for assembly, cost and automation on an NPI.
- Experience coordinating and building discrete assembly lines
- Work and shift focus based on our needs.
