Job Description

Position Summary:

The Team Lead will provide leadership and directly manage global analysts responsible for determining accurate classification data elements (HTS, ECCN, COO) according to Rockwell Automation RA policies and global Customs laws. The Team Lead will oversee the internal training and auditing programs to support continuous improvement of the existing compliance program. You will act as a liaison between Classification for Global Trade (CGT), Rockwell Automation business units, logistics, sourcing, legal, external service providers, customs brokers, Customs and other government agencies. The Team Lead will support the department Manager and other Team Leads globally in multiple projects.

You will report to the Global Classification and Trade Management COE Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Classify products for HTS codes (globally) and ECCNs (or other export control codes) and determining COO (globally)
  • Ability to interpret import/export compliance regulations (globally)
  • Working knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and duty savings programs
  • Provide compliance training
  • Conduct departmental auditing
  • Support the Engineered to Order (ETO) Business, specifically in US, CA & BR, with classification and qualification under USMCA or MERCOSUR FTA's.
  • Manage global classification data change processes
  • Support purchased COO management for RA through ad hoc and annual supplier solicitations and determine standards for multiple COO management
  • Support RA acquisitions and joint ventures with classification data in in multiple ERP systems
  • Maintain broker requests through the Request for Information (RFI) process and provide support to US and CA brokers
  • Support business in BR, especially changes in regulations, through collaboration with local logistics
  • Maintain metrics for the department to identify areas of strength and improvement
  • Support development and goals of team members to reach their individual potential to grow within and outside of their roles.
  • Promote bringing forth a steady stream of new ideas
  • Recognize and encourage diversity, equity and inclusion within the team.
  • Collaborate with other Team Leads to encourage unity and consistency between the global teams within CGT.
  • Organize workload for the team to meet the demands of the business and maintain balance with daily activities.
  • Help develop and implement business processes that comply with the RA corporate global policies.
  • Support CGT projects and special assignments as required and ensure that work is completed on time and goals are met.

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required – we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 2+ years of experience directly managing people and activities.
  • Significant experience in relevant field (e.g. International Business, Business, Trade Compliance, Import, Export, etc.)
  • Access Databases
  • SAP/GTS
  • Power BI
  • Licensed Customs Broker
