Job Summary

This high impact role assures that products manufactured comply with Customer quality requirements, operating procedures, and other applicable regulations. You will manage Testing of products to ensure compliance and realize our results. Take lead of continuous improvement project to implement strategy framework scope on shop floor & testing area.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage Testing work cell to ensure that all manufactured products are tested & validated following the Quality standards without any defects.
  • Plan & performing routine testing of Customized products following relevant IEC / IS standard, customer requirement to ensure the Defect Free Product.
  • Plan Execution of the Testing as per the priority of Product dispatches
  • Provide necessary training input to the workmen related to existing / new products to ensure maximum quality output.
  • Trouble shooting & solving the issues rises during routine product testing.
  • Provide feedback to the Process / MFG Engineering team for tools, fixtures testing equipment required during testing and to improve the quality of work output
  • Ensure that customer delivery commitments are met.
  • Coordinate testing activities with other teams for on-time dispatch
  • Quick problem solving to make sure that production can smoothly run
  • Testing knowledge and PLC programming skills are must
  • Monitor Daily productivity of team and submit daily reports with actions if any short falls
  • Initiate continuous improvement ideas for increased performance.
  • Promote continuous learning and encourage multi skilling for testing operators

Conduct tasks following applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (state regulations, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, etc) as well as Rockwell Automation procedures.

Functional

  • Excellent planning of production test plan based on shipment deadline and material supply, equipment and personnel, and build testing schedule accordingly,
  • Manage testing operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures to ensure smooth production operation.
  • Meet production goals concerning high quality, low cost, on time delivery, safety and 5S.
  • Work with cross function team to solve testing / production issues and escalate
  • Excel at Project management, new product introducing / transferring to support business growth.
  • Initiate continuous improvement programs that lead to improvement in quality, cost, delivery, efficiency and safety.
  • Develop training metrics and training plan, train and coach production employees, conduct employee performance review and develop people
  • Coordinate product testing activities with other teams.
  • Conduct tasks following applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately policies and procedures in compliance with government law.

  • Coach, develop and direct the activities of operators in an evolving team environment
  • Influence and lead others in the accomplishment of production projects

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • Typically, 15 to 18 years working experience in Electrical Product Testing & Validation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of production principle, cross function understanding and leadership experience.
  • PLC (Allen Bradley / Similar) programming knowledge is must.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical / Electronics
  • Low-voltage electrician's license (must-have)
  • Lean-Six Sigma background p
  • Project management experience
  • You will report to Production Manager
  • You will be based in ESR Industrial Park, Oragadum, Chennai. You must have Valid Passport.
